    The YMCA of Steuben County is looking for a dynamic individual to become its Director of Member Services & Marketing. This high profile position would be responsible the following:

     

    • Promotion of all YMCA programs and events through a variety of different media's.
    • Development and implementation of plans to attract and retain YMCA Members.
    • Overall supervision of the Member Service Center and Child Watch Teams.

The YMCA is looking for a strong customer service oriented individual to become it Membership Service Center Coordinator. This position would be responsible for the following:

    • Provide customer service excellence to members and participants.
    • Maintaining accurate membership records through the use of a database.
    • All staffing and training of the Member Service Center personnel.

  • Building Supervisor

          The YMCA is looking for a Building Supervisor. The main function of a Building         Supervisor is to ensure the building and programs are operating as scheduled on the weekends. The Building Supervisor’s duties are as follows, but limited to:

  • Opening and closing the facility on the weekends.
  • Set-up and tear-down after events
  • Customer Service

Experience in fitness, wellness or aquatics is preferred but not required.

Building Supervisor

  • Swim Instructors
    The YMCA of Steuben County is looking for individuals interested in part-time swim instructor positions. This position is responsible for conducting swimming instruction in accordance with the core values and standards set by the National Aquatic YMCA programs while ensuring the safety of patrons and students at all times. The perspective candidates must have 1-6 months previous swim instruction experience and be a competent teacher. Must have CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid; or a willingness to be trained and must maintain a current American Red Cross or YMCA Water Safety Instructor license.   • YMCA Tumbling Instructor Position.
  • General Function:  The Coach reports directly to the Sports Director, and is responsible for representing the YMCA.  Will do his/her best to teach the children on their team how to play the sport in all aspects (i.e. skills, attitudes, character, values, etc.) consistent with YMCA principles and program goals.  Will take an active part in promoting the YMCA Sports Philosophy.
  • Know How:  The Coach should have a working knowledge of gymnastics; must be able to work effectively with other people, especially the children and their families, representatives, etc.
  • Principle Activities/Essential Functions:
  1. Work to achieve program goals.
  2. Work cooperatively with others.
  3. Communicate with team as needed.
  4. Teach fundamentals.
  5. Ensure facility is safe.
  6. Set up facility
  • Effect on End Results: The instructor will serve as the primary contact with the team participants.  Such as she/he has the opportunity to have a significant effect on how the participants are being impacted.

Volunteers are an essential part of our YMCA organization.  They multiply our effectiveness in the community and allow more people access to what the YMCA offers.  There are so many ways to help and give back to the community.  Please contact the YMCA for more information.
