Programs that are supported by YMCA Day of Giving

Youth Sports

YMCA youth sports encourage and promote healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and mutual respect for others.

Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches – as well as being their kid’s greatest fan.

Healthy Living

With your support, we can provide financial support and assistance to those in need and help your neighbors combat obesity and chronic illness, improve mental health, and create healthy family habits.
At the heart of the Y lies the power to transform—both yourself and the world around you. From our wide range of fitness, personal training, sports and aquatics programs, to our group social activities, as well as fun family and community events, we offer an array of options focused on strengthening spirit, mind and body.

Indiana Youth & Government

Indiana YMCA Youth and Government or “INYaG” is a year-long experiential learning civic engagement program that uses mock government as a vehicle for teaching Hoosier 7th through 12th graders about democracy.

The program develops young men and women who will be better citizens now by being both knowledgeable and active in determining the future of our democracy

Summer Day Camp

Campers will have the opportunity to develop skills, build confidence, and learn hard work and how to be a team player. They will enjoy a variety of crafts, cooking, swimming, and many other activities.

Day camp at the Y is led by experienced staff and offers nearly all the benefits of overnight camp – new outdoor experiences, skill–building and lasting friendships but still allowing campers to return home every afternoon.

Safety Around Water

The YMCA Safety Around Water Program helps reduce drowning by bringing crucial, life-saving swim skills directly to children. This program can be provided in multiple ways, during other programs such as Day Camp or by itself.

From oceans to lakes to streams to swimming pools, water is everywhere: 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in it! And while water can be an irresistible place for kids to explore, play and enjoy splashy fun, it can be risky for those who haven’t yet developed their water smarts.

Scholarships

The YMCA provides financial assistance to deserving individuals, enabling them to access the YMCA, its programs and facilities where otherwise this may not have been possible.

This needs based assistance helps individuals and families access the programs that are important to them. These scholarships are made possible by generous donors and partners like you who are committed to providing resources that increase access so more people can come together for the common good.

There are many ways to get involved, Just remember to do your part!
