YMCA Pickleball Tournament – December 6

Get ready to serve, volley, and smash your way to victory in the most exciting Pickleball event of the year! Join us at the YMCA of Steuben County for a fun, friendly, and fast-paced tournament where players of all skill levels can compete, connect, and enjoy the game.

This tournament is open to both members and non-members, and all proceeds will go toward purchasing new Pickleball equipment for our Y community.

Players register solo—simply choose your skill level (1–3), and we’ll take care of the rest! Teams will be mixed and matched to keep play fun, fair, and exciting.

Pickleball Skill Level Guide (1–3)

Level 1 – Beginner

Choose this level if:

• You are new to pickleball or have limited playing experience

• You are still learning the basic rules, scoring, and court positions

• You can sustain short rallies but may struggle with consistency

• You’re working on control, proper footwork, and basic shot techniques

Level 2 – Intermediate

Choose this level if:

• You play recreationally and understand most rules and strategies

• You can maintain longer rallies and place shots with some consistency

• You’re comfortable with volleys, dinks, and serving with control

• You’re beginning to understand when to attack vs. defend

Level 3 – Advanced

Choose this level if:

• You play regularly and have strong control, accuracy, and strategy

• You can execute a variety of shots (dinks, drops, drives, volleys) with confidence

• You understand advanced positioning, communication, and shot selection

• You consistently compete at a high recreational or competitive level
